Orientation Part 2 is the continuation of the season premier of Agents of SHIELD, and they aren’t starting in a great place. They’ve managed to figure out they’re in the future, Earth is shattered, and humans aren’t doing well overall.
Last season of Agents of SHIELD ended with the team expecting to be arrested after they did what they needed to do to resolve the crises from last time around, wrapping up the issues of the Framework, Aida, and Ghost Rider. The last we saw of them was the agents going to a diner to enjoy a last meal in freedom before the proverbial hammer came down on them.
The Inhumans get to the end of their first, and most likely only, season, with “And Finally… Black Bolt.”
The Inhumans are almost done with their first, and most likely only, season. The penultimate episode is “Havoc in the Hidden Land,” although a fair amount of the havoc happens in Hawaii, not Attilan. At least they resolve one of the things that’s been bothering me since the first episode.
The Inhumans meander along through their season with, “The Gentleman’s Name is Gorgon.” I hate to say it, but I haven’t been really impressed with their show, as much as I like the comic book versions of the characters. And, of the weak season, this might be my least favorite episode so far.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe delivers its next installment with Thor: Ragnarok. In addition to being a great new adventure, it covers where Thor and Hulk were during Captain America: Civil War. We get a new kick-ass heroine to root for, and a few lingering plot lines dealt with.

My best guest is they are trying to emulate the dramatic style of a lot of the issue titles/cover hype from back in the 60’s, when The Inhumans first appeared. The Defenders wrap up their first season with a lot of things going on. There’s no announcement as yet about a second season, but it was months before they confirmed season two of Iron Fist, so that doesn’t necessarily mean anything. The basis for some friendships are formed, among both the heroes and at least some of the supporting cast. And at least one character takes a major step towards their comic book incarnation.
