Flash: Escape From Earth 2

The team on Earth 2 is having problems. Fighting Zoom on his own ground is harder than they thought, and now they need to, “Escape from Earth 2.” Zoom himself is running around his version of Central City, leaving Wanted posters of Dr. Harrison Wells all over. Hewitt, Wells’ research assistant, is worried. Wells orders STAR Labs to be locked down and evacuated. Cisco manages to get back from Barry being captured. When Wells wonders why Cisco is still alive, Cisco comments, “He cares even less about me than you do.”

Legends of Tomorrow: White Knights

The Legends of Tomorrow continue their quest through time in “White Knights.” This title could have several meanings. They say phrase several times throughout the episode. There was a movie in 1985 that had a similar setting. And one of the characters has a connection, in the comics at least, to an organization that used different color chess pieces as titles for their members.

iZombie: Physician Heal Thy Selfie

It’s almost getting hard to keep track of all the different mini-factions and secrets on iZombie. This week’s episode is Physician, Heal Thy Selfie, the latest in a series of great titles. I suspect there are going to be a lot of big reveals, surprises, and disappointments as they work towards the season finale.

Arrow: Sins of the Father

Arrow’s “Sins of the Father” changes up the status quo on several fronts, many of which surprised me. A few long running subplots come to an end and some relationships change. I suspect this episode will have a lot of repercussions, and is probably part of the ramp up to the season finale.

Legends of Tomorrow: Blood Ties

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow continues their sojourn in the 1970’s with this week’s “Blood Ties.” The feud between Rip and Vandal Savage goes back further than we realized. They had a run in in 1700 BC Egypt. It didn’t go that well, in part because Rip Hunter is a good man, and Savage is, well, Savage.

Flash: Welcome To Earth 2

Things get really weird when Flash finally visits Earth 2 in the appropriately named “Welcome to Earth 2.” They do a great job with turning things in unexpected directions with the dopplegangers of people we’ve seen a lot to some who haven’t been around in a while. I suspect the writers and casting directors had a lot of fun with this one. I know I did.

Arrow: Unchained

This week’s Arrow is called “Unchained” but it very easily could have been titled “Reunion.” Several characters ranging from recurring to series regulars in the past all come back this week, along with a major new villain. They manage to cram a lot into one episode, and are building to something major happening soon.

iZombie: Fifty Shades of Grey Matter

It really says a lot about a genre show when the characterization and dialogue manages to consistently overwhelm the sci fi/fantasy aspects of it. The writing on iZombie has been pretty damn entertaining, managing to swing from funny to high action to borderline tragic with apparent ease. Add in some great dialogue and the show keeps impressing me.

Flash: Fast Lane

Central City continues to get new metahuman criminals in “Fast Lane.” There are also several personal developments for the STAR Labs crew. They are making an interesting world that mostly reflects the rebooted “DCNU” comic book universe, but has some elements unique to the tv show as well.

Supergirl: Bizarro

Maxwell Lord continues to play supervillain for never specified reasons in “Bizarro.” Any fan of Superman, and most comic fans in general, know what’s coming from that title. Max has created his own faux-Supergirl, mentally conditioned her to hate the real Supergirl, and turned her loose.
