Daredevil: The Ones We Leave Behind

“The Ones We Leave Behind,” is a very tension-filled penultimate episode for Daredevil’s first season. There are a lot of developments and surprises that I did not see coming. As the rest of the series has been, it’s a wonderfully-well written, brutal instalment of the story.

Agents of SHIELD: Chaos Theory

Things are getting ugly for the Agents of SHIELD in “Chaos Theory.” The show opens with a scene from about six months ago, with May and Andrew in Tahiti, a magical place… err, Hawaii. They seem happy, and talk about new beginnings. You just know that’s not going to last, especially given what we learned last week. They do show Andrew’s secret origin, for lack of a better term.

Daredevil: The Path ot the Righteous

Daredevil’s journey continues in, “The Path of the Righteous.” Following the incident at the party, Fisk has rushed Vanessa to the hospital, and is stuck doing one of the things he’s horrible at- waiting. There is an amusing scene of a nurse putting Fisk in his place at the ER.

Daredevil: Nelson V Murdock

The Daredevil story took a very unexpected twist at the end of episode nine. The tenth part has the somewhat ominous title of, “Nelson v. Murdock.” Foggy is very upset after learning Matt’s secret, and questions everything about their friendship. I think Elden Henson has been doing a great job as Foggy all along, but he really shines in these scenes with Matt.

Arrow: Haunted

“Haunted” is an event that some fans have been looking forward to for some time. Arrow gets a special guest star from elsewhere in the DC Televison-verse. It also marks a somewhat different milestone for the Flash/Arrow world, but I’ll get to that later.

Heroes Reborn: June 13th, Part Two

June 13th, Part Two is an episode of Heroes Reborn that will make you think a little bit to get through it. Time travel can do that, and there are a few examples of that in this show. Add in memory manipulation, and it makes for something that you really might want to be paying attention to in order to get the full story.

Supergirl: Stronger Together

Supergirl comes back for more in “Stronger Together.” It’s been about a week since she revealed herself to the word (story time mirroring real time in this case), and she’s working out with the DEO. Well, if getting missiles shot at her counts as working out. It’s a nice sequence that shows they have a decent special effects budget. It also shows that she’s taking her new job seriously, putting in the time to work on her powers.

Heroes Reborn: June the 13th Part One

Things get even grimmer for Noah and his band of Evos in “June 13th Part One.” That, of course, is the date of the ill-fated conference in Odessa when the word changed and Evos became the newest oppressed class in the wake of a terrorist act that killed many. Noah finally convinces Hiro to use his powers and take them back to the conference, trying to prevent the bombs from going off and find out what happened to Claire, Noah’s daughter.

Agents of SHIELD- 4722 Hours

So what happened to Jemma Simmons during the months she was missing? We’ve seen hints in her reactions to being back, but we finally get to see the details in “4722 Hours.” With Agents of SHIELD being an ensemble cast, we don’t get a lot of focus time on any of them individually as a rule. This is the first episode I can think of that was almost all just one character, and actress Elizabeth Henstridge carries it off nicely.

Heroes Reborn: Game Over

This week’s episode of Heroes Reborn has the somewhat ominous title of “Game Over.” Since the EverNow game is such a big part of what’s going on, that really doesn’t sound good. The show opens with Noah and Quentin applying “vigorous interrogation” techniques to Harris, trying to find out what happened to Phoebe and, possibly more important for the world in general, Hiro Nakamura. Hiro’s been missing for a while now, and since Erica has his sword, and knows it important, she and her Renautas empire clearly know something about what happened to him.
