Daredevil: The Path ot the Righteous

Daredevil’s journey continues in, “The Path of the Righteous.” Following the incident at the party, Fisk has rushed Vanessa to the hospital, and is stuck doing one of the things he’s horrible at- waiting. There is an amusing scene of a nurse putting Fisk in his place at the ER.

Daredevil: Nelson V Murdock

The Daredevil story took a very unexpected twist at the end of episode nine. The tenth part has the somewhat ominous title of, “Nelson v. Murdock.” Foggy is very upset after learning Matt’s secret, and questions everything about their friendship. I think Elden Henson has been doing a great job as Foggy all along, but he really shines in these scenes with Matt.

Agents of SHIELD- 4722 Hours

So what happened to Jemma Simmons during the months she was missing? We’ve seen hints in her reactions to being back, but we finally get to see the details in “4722 Hours.” With Agents of SHIELD being an ensemble cast, we don’t get a lot of focus time on any of them individually as a rule. This is the first episode I can think of that was almost all just one character, and actress Elizabeth Henstridge carries it off nicely.

Agents of SHIELD: Devils You Know

“Devils You Know,” opens with a nice domestic scene of a couple making dinner. Gradually, they show that the man has powers, so, given the current storylines, he must be an Inhuman. The couple get two visitors in quick succession- Alicia, the “Ginger Ninja” from the SHIELD vs SHIELD battle last season, followed by Lash. As you can imagine, this doesn’t go well for anyone but Lash.

Daredevil: Speak of the Devil

Speak of the Devil is the ninth episode of Daredevil’s first season on Netflix. It jumps back and forth in time a bit, showing a lot of character and exposition scenes and then going to a really ugly fight as Daredevil battles a ninja in red. The ninja has a chain weapon and is apparently even better than our hero.

Ms. Marvel #19 review

This was a rare kind of issue, especially these days. With the Battleworld event coming, it really is the end of the world, and Kamala knows it. Most comics would have some kind of non-stop action-fest with maybe some self-pity thrown in. Instead, as her world ends, Kamala spends time with her friends and family, never even putting on her costume. It was a character-driven story that was very well written. Kamala’s heart is so clearly both in the right place and absolutely huge.

SHIELD: “A Wanted (Inhu)Man” review

One of the things I give Agents of SHIELD credit for is amusing episode titles. A lot of this week’s show is about Lincoln being on the run, so they call it, “A Wanted (Inhu)Man.” They throw in a lot of twists and turns and some interesting character choices and subplots. The opening shows Lincoln…

Spider-Man 2099 #1 review

The chaos of the Secret Wars event seems to be over in most of the Marvel Universe, and the new status quo is being established. I don’t get a lot of Marvel titles, so I don’t quite know what’s going on in all of this. It would appear that the “main” Marvel Earth and that of the Ultimates merged, kind of like after the Crisis on Infinite Earths over in DC back in the 80’s. I don’t know why Peter Parker is head of a big company now, but that seems to be the case.

Star Wars #10 comic book review

Ever have one of those days where you just can’t catch a break? That seems to be what Han Solo is going through the last few issues. He and Leia’s mission has gone horribly badly. They have been shot at by Imperials, barely made it to the surface of a virtually unknown world, and then been confronted by a bounty hunter. To make it worse for Han, the bounty hunter, Sana, is referring to herself as a Han’s wife. Han disagrees with this, but it’s definitely not improving his relationship with Leia. The relentless pursuit by the Imperials isn’t making anything any better, either.

Agents of SHIELD: Laws of Nature

Agents of SHIELD comes back for its new season with “Laws of Nature,” and it kicks off with a bang. The Terrigen contamination we saw last season is making itself known, and people are randomly finding their dormant Inhuman gene jumped into action. What quickly becomes apparent is that SHIELD isn’t the only group interested in these newly powered people.
