Black Lightning: Lawanda- The Book of Hope

The second episode of Black Lightning, “Lawanda: The Book of Hope,” starts off with a major contrast going on. On the news, a commentator wonders why Black Lightning is back, and seems both happy and mistrustful about the hero’s return. On the bed, Jefferson Pierce is groaning, in major pain, in the aftermath of his return to action.

Supergirl: Fort Rozz

Since the second half of this season seems to be focusing a great deal on Reign, they need to learn more about her. So it makes perfect sense that this episode would be about trying to gather some intel about her. But to do that, they need to revisit something that was important season one and has largely faded since then. Supergirl and company pay a visit to “Fort Rozz.”

Arrow: Divided

At the mid-season break, Team Arrow was divided when Dinah, Rene, and Curtis quit the team. With Diggle still suffering from his mysterious nerve malady, that leaves Oliver in the field solo.

Flash: Trial of the Flash

After the winter break, The Flash returns with “The Trial of the Flash.” Flash has been one of my favorite of the hero shows, and I was really looking forward to seeing how they resolved the big cliffhanger. I hate to say it, but as a fan of the show, a comic book fan, and someone with decent knowledge about the criminal justice system, I was disappointed on all fronts.

Supergirl: Legion of Super Heroes

After a few weeks off for the winter break, Supergirl returns, and she’s not alone. Now, the Girl of Steel is allied with a version of one of DC Comics’ biggest and most powerful teams, which also gives us the episode title: “The Legion of Super Heroes.”

Black Lightning: The Resurrection

After a long wait (and interestingly timed considering Black Panther comes out in less than a month), Black Lightning debuted on January 16th. While it’s on the CW, it’s not related to the other CW/DC Comics shows like Arrow, Flash, and the rest. Having seen the first episode, that decision makes a lot of sense. I was really impressed and enjoyed the episode.

Batman #37 review: Double Date

Not to long ago, Batman asked Catwoman to marry him, thus finally “catching up with” the continuity from decades ago, when the Golden Age characters married, eventually producing Helena Wayne, the Huntress, as their daughter.

Black Lightning: A Brief History

With the new show coming up, I thought this would be a good time to go over Black Lightning’s history. Personally, I’m really looking forward to this addition to the CW hero shows, even though Black Lightning won’t be part of their universe
