One thing I’ll give the DC/CW shows credit for is doing some impressive research. I was familiar with Gravedigger from the World War II era comics. What I didn’t actually know is that there have been three characters using that codename in DC’s books, and this version, played by the immensely talented Wayne Brady, sort of combines the first and third.

Jefferson and company need to put a team together, try and train them to work together, or at least stop sniping at each other, and deal with a new enemy. Things aren’t off to a smooth start in “The Book of Markovia: Chapter Four: Grab the Strap.”

As if the fight against the ASA wasn’t bad enough, now the heroes are taking on a foreign country. The ASA has been using the threat of Markovia to justify their brutal actions in Freeland, and now Markovia is actually doing things that are ticking off the heroes.
Black Lightning: The Book of Markovia: Chapter Two: Lynn’s Addiciton
The Resistance is seriously outgunned, but has the specialized help of Black Lighting and Thunder/Blackbird. Meanwhile, Lightning is focused to the point of obsession with her new self-appointed mission, and Lynn’s problems are becoming more obvious.
Black Lightning: The Book of Markovia: Chapter One: Blessings and Curses Reborn
Of all the hero shows, it seems the least changed in the new world. Crisis is referred to in the “previously on” recap, but that’s close to it, and there are no substantial changes noted. While I love the team up concept, I almost think they should have left “Earth BL” or whatever we’re calling that one off on its own.
Black Lightning: Earth Crisis
Sometimes ignorance is most definitely NOT bliss, and what you don’t know CAN hurt you. The Crisis on Infinite Earths has been sweeping through the multiverse. Black Lightning and company, to this point, have been unaware of all of that until now. Things get strange, then ugly, then deadly during Black Lightning’s “Earth Crisis.”
Black Lightning: The Book of Occupation: Chapter Four: Lynn’s Ouroboros
The ASA continues their stranglehold on Freeland, and the strain is showing in many places. Odell is a duplicitous pain in the ass, but he’s very good at it, and the Pierce family seems to his major target at the moment. It’s painful to see some of what spills out of all this, and a former foe of Jefferson’s is back and actually attempting to be heroic.
