Harley Quinn: The Final Joke

Last episode ended with the shocking death of Poison Ivy, the triumph of the Joker, and things looking horrible for the crew. Now they need to figure out how to get back on top in “The Final Joke.”

Team Flash has been through a lot of changes, and now they’re dealing with the world changing around them. Aftereffects from the Crisis are a recurring theme of this episode, as are changes in general.

Black Lightning: The Book of War: Chapter One: Homecoming

One thing I’ll give the DC/CW shows credit for is doing some impressive research. I was familiar with Gravedigger from the World War II era comics. What I didn’t actually know is that there have been three characters using that codename in DC’s books, and this version, played by the immensely talented Wayne Brady, sort of combines the first and third.

Batwoman: Drink Me

     After the Crisis, and then the strangeness of the Alice/Beth affair, Batwoman and company could use a change of pace. “Normal” doesn’t really apply in Gotham most of the time, but something with lower stakes and less emotionally wrenching at least would be good for the heroes.

Harley Quinn: Devil’s Snare

Picking up from where last episode left off, the crew has a major battle raging. Scarecrow’s new potion has twisted an aspect of Ivy’s powers, and the resulting ugly is rampaging through Gotham’s Robinson Park.

Legends of Tomorrow: A Head of Her Time

The Legends remain split up this episode, with different members off attending to various tasks. Most of the team goes after a new Encore, some are dealing with one of their member’s dark past, and a few are off on personal business. Even with their forces divided, the team managed to come out “A Head of Her Time.”

Flash: A Girl Named Sue

  Last episode, a few twists were revealed as Iris was trapped in the mirror dimension. There was also a bit more about the mysterious Black Hole organization, who I think it’s safe to say will be the looming big bad of the season’s second half.

Harley Quinn: Harley Quinn Highway

The second half of Harley Quinn’s initial season has been a rocky trip for most of the cast. Where we left off last, Harley finally made it into the Legion of Doom, but she lost her crew and Ivy’s friendship in the process. Ivy herself managed to get in over her head and get captured, and things aren’t looking great for anyone.

Legends of Tomorrow: Slay Anything

The Encores, villains of history returned from Hell, have been pretty firmly established as the big problems for the season. It’s hard to deal with immortal bad guys, and the first two were taken out in fairly unique ways that are hard to repeat.
