Flash and his friends struggle to figure out what’s going on, and they’re a few steps behind throughout the episode. Other surprises include more visitors, the truth behind an ally, some troubling decisions, and a shocking ending.
Whatever the fate of the related Arrowverse series, the end is not quite here for the concept of these shows. While I’ve heard little about the “Gotham U” show that’s supposed to figure David Ramsey’s John Diggle since the initial announcement, there’s at least one more show coming to the CW.
Between the show being a mid-season slot and all the COVID issues, it’s been a year since we saw the Legends of Tomorrow. The last thing we saw was the defeat of the Fates, a big celebration after, and then Sara unexpectedly kidnapped by aliens without the others seeing.
Nothing goes to plan, even by Legends standards, and a lot of weirdness happens as they try, borrowing a phrase, “To put right what once went wrong.” They give a nice nod to a classic sci fi novel (and less classic movie) with the title “I Am Legends.”
With the movie coming out, a lot of people are interested in the Birds of Prey who might not be familiar with the original comic or characters. As is often the case, there’s a lot of difference between the movie and the comics. I’ll do my best to give a quick overview of both.
Things go from bad to worse in Supergirl’s “All About Eve.” Despite being in the title, Eve Tessmacher doesn’t actually show up much in the episode, although she’s certainly talked about a lot. We see some friendships mended, an ugly plan looking worse and worse, one ally resolving a crisis, and another just starting one.
DC continues to try and catch up to Marvel’s movie dominance with their latest offering, Aquaman.
Things are fairly desperate for the Agents of SHIELD. They’re on their own, still on the run, and have some formidable new enemies.
HR Wells takes over the introductory narration for Flash’s “Dead or Alive.” That kind of makes sense, since a lot of the episode is about him. As the intro goes on, we gradually see that the voiceover is actually part of one of Wells’ books that we’ve heard about before. He’s also taking Flash’s place…
