The Original Captain Marvel: A Quick History

When the Marvel Studios Captain Marvel came out recently, I posted a rough history of the various Captains Marvel. With DC’s Shazam now out, and number one at the box office opening weekend, it seemed like a good time for a history of this specific character.

Titans: Donna Troy

  I’ve had a lot of problems with this Titans series. I disagree with the way they are handling just about all the characters, especially my personal favorite, Dick Grayson. So with this episode named after another favorite, “Donna Troy,” I was a bit worried. Turns out, in my view, Donna is the most accurately cast, written, and acted Titan so far. I was very impressed.

Gotham: The Trial of Jim Gordon

 Gotham’s final season continues with “The Trial Of Jim Gordon.” The episode was directed by Erin Richards, who plays Barbara Kean on the show, and written by Ben McKenzie, Gotham’s own Jim Gordon.

Arrow: Brothers and Sisters

This episode title of Arrow, “Brothers and Sisters,” is fairly ironic, considering I believe every sibling relationship on the series has eventually been revealed to be some kind of step or half kind.

Titans: Asylum

    Things go badly for the Titans (who have still never used that name and aren’t really much of a team so far) as they make an ill-advised visit to an “Asylum.” The episode is rife with character mistakes and some questionable writing. I haven’t been loving the series, and this is not a…

Gotham: Ace Chemicals

    The final season of Gotham is paying homage to a lot of important Batman stories. The entire season is loosely based off the major event “No Man’s Land,” which ran for over a year in many titles. “Ace Chemicals” has hints of Joker’s origin, Batman’s origin, and arguably “The Killing Joke” a graphic novel that changed one Bat-family member for years.
