Gotham: Worse Than A Crime

The Gotham mid-season finale is a very eventful episode. “Worse Than A Crime” is clearly taking place not long after last week’s “The Son of Gotham.” It’s a rough episode and most of the people involved don’t have a good outing.

Supergirl: Red Faced

Sometimes, for whatever reason, writers on a series seem to get an idea that really should have had a build up but it doesn’t happen. That’s the case with this week’s Supergirl, “Red Faced.” A recurring theme of the episode is Supergirl/Kara having some serious anger issues that have come out of nowhere. Some hints of it would have made this work a lot better, but up until now, the only negativity we’ve seen from Kara has been her not being happy about the James Olsen/Lucy Lane relationship.

Gotham: The Son of Gotham

We’re heading for the mid-season break quickly on “The Son of Gotham.” The episode opens with a woman being attacked on the street, and her attacker suddenly getting grabbed up. Years later, when Batman brings in the era of the vigilante in Gotham, that’s not so unusual, but in this time frame, it’s not common.

Flash: Gorilla Warfare

After last episode’s brutal fight with Zoom, Barry is wounded and powerless, at least for the most part. His exceptionally rapid healing seems to still be ticking along fine, as he’s gone from not being able to feel his legs to hobbling around on a cane. But with Central City’s speedster out of action, and Firestorm out of town for the foreseeable future, this isn’t a good time for a new crisis. Of course, with a title like “Gorilla Warfare,” you know what’s coming.

Gotham: A Bitter Pill to Swallow

After last week’s very eventful episode, repercussions keep echoing throughout Gotham. “A Bitter Pill to Swallow” has lot of follow up and chaos as the players realign themselves. It’s also, on some levels, one of the more disturbing episodes they’ve done, and that says something on this show.

Supergirl: Livewire

Kryptonian invulnerability is great and all, but has its limits. One of the things we see this episode is that it provides no protection at all against the dreaded family Thanksgiving stress. Even superheroes are vulnerable to holiday gatherings.

Arrow: Haunted

“Haunted” is an event that some fans have been looking forward to for some time. Arrow gets a special guest star from elsewhere in the DC Televison-verse. It also marks a somewhat different milestone for the Flash/Arrow world, but I’ll get to that later.

Comic Book Classics Revisited: The Death of Superman Part 7

And so we’ve come to the end of the epic Death of Superman story arc! Part 7, which was published in 1993 as Superman #75 , is basically a money shot heaven for comic book fans hungering after splash page after splash page. This completes that whole “counting down” to Superman’s death with each of these final parts having one fewer panel per page than the one before. This also makes covering the blow-by-blow dissection of this issue very easy for me. So, without further delay, let’s get ready to RUMBLE!!!!!!!!
