DCeased (2019) Miniseries Review [No Spoilers]

I am going to talk about an amazing comic book which is one of the darkest comic books I’ve read: Tom Taylor’s DCeased.

A while back, when year was 2019 DC Comics decided to make an excellent six-issue comic book miniseries which is called DCeased. It’s a very well-written comic if you ask me but like any other comics there are some parts that could be better. I’m not going to say the drawing was bad or the story did not make sense or I don’t know, action scenes were average. Because all of that would be just trying to find a problem or negative thing about the book which this would be not etic.

The thing is, the problem with this comic book is that, IT’S TOO FREAKING SHORT! And everything just happens so fast. Before you know who is the leader of Justice League, which doesn’t matter at this point, everything goes down and at the end of every issue you’re just thinking;  “What the… happened?”
I accept that every little piece comes together in the end but I just wanted to read more! I know it sounds funny or silly but come on, man! When you find a new comic book series all you want to do is just read that and see what happens in the end. But in this comic book series you are just beginning to God, please, please stop the time and let me read till the day I am just satisfied!

So, the first issue will make you feel like flying above the ocean. And because of that you’ll be grateful. But after reading the second and third issues, I think you will agree with me that the series shouldn’t have been miniseries at all.

Let me talk about the plot a little bit. After war with the forces of Apokolips, Batman discovers that Cyborg has been kidnapped. And on Apokolips, we see DeSaad torturing Cyborg in order to get knowledge about the Justice League and other stuff. While torturing goes on, Cyborg gets a virus which is called the Anti-Life equation. And that’s the breaking point of the story. After this point everything we know about  the normal world of DC Comics is about to be destroyed. You can’t imagine what is gonna be in the next chapter and that’s the most significant thing about all issues, I guess.  Just know that the Anti-Life  equation is that some virus turns people to  zombies and there is no safe place, no escape even for heroes. Kind of sounds like Marvel’s What if stories if you ever read it or watch it.

I think every comic book reader should give this masterpiece a chance. Besides, it’s cheap and as you know there are not many good cheap comic books right now. All that I’m trying to say If I made a recommendation list called Best Cheap Comic Books, DCeased would be number one, I guess. One of the reasonably priced comics.

Thank you for reading. I’ll see you in next post.
