Flash: The Elongated Knight Rises
With Barry in jail and Kid-Flash “finding himself” in Blue Valley, Central City is running low on superhuman defenders.

Since the second half of this season seems to be focusing a great deal on Reign, they need to learn more about her. So it makes perfect sense that this episode would be about trying to gather some intel about her. But to do that, they need to revisit something that was important season one and has largely faded since then. Supergirl and company pay a visit to “Fort Rozz.”
The Agents of SHIELD get a fairly ominous episode title this week as they live through, “The Last Day.” It’s actually several days, as the story jumps around in time a fair bit.
At the mid-season break, Team Arrow was divided when Dinah, Rene, and Curtis quit the team. With Diggle still suffering from his mysterious nerve malady, that leaves Oliver in the field solo.

“X-Roads” is the second half of The Gifted’s season one finale. Things have been action packed up until now, and they keep going.
The Gifted wraps up their first season with a two hour finale, eXtraction and Xroads. Things have been getting bad for both sides as the season has gone on, and events build to a head as the Mutant Underground and Sentinel Services head for a major battle.
After the winter break, The Flash returns with “The Trial of the Flash.” Flash has been one of my favorite of the hero shows, and I was really looking forward to seeing how they resolved the big cliffhanger. I hate to say it, but as a fan of the show, a comic book fan, and someone with decent knowledge about the criminal justice system, I was disappointed on all fronts.
After the brutality of last episode, it would be nice if Frank got a bit of a break. Of course, that’s probably not going to happen anytime soon.
After a few weeks off for the winter break, Supergirl returns, and she’s not alone. Now, the Girl of Steel is allied with a version of one of DC Comics’ biggest and most powerful teams, which also gives us the episode title: “The Legion of Super Heroes.”
After a long wait (and interestingly timed considering Black Panther comes out in less than a month), Black Lightning debuted on January 16th. While it’s on the CW, it’s not related to the other CW/DC Comics shows like Arrow, Flash, and the rest. Having seen the first episode, that decision makes a lot of sense. I was really impressed and enjoyed the episode.
