Star Wars #3
The new adventures of Luke, Leia, and Han keep going as they fight the Empire on Cymoon 1. The problem with attacking a weapons factory is there are a lot of weapons around. It makes for some interesting events for Han and Leia.

Marvel recently started a new edition of Star Wars comics. Most likely, this was at least in part kicked off by the excitement (and some trepidation) about the new movies coming. I’ve been enjoying the main Star Wars title, so I thought I’d check this one out. After all, Luke and Han tend to get a lot more attention than Leia, and I wanted to see what they’d do.
Continuing from last issue, our heroes are trying to shut down a major Imperial weapons factory on Cymoon 1. Naturally, nothing is ever simple for Luke, Han, Leia and company. They have been split up and found more than enough problems to keep everyone busy and then some. Malfunctioning Walkers are bad enough, but when a certain Sith Lord comes calling, you know it’s not going to make anything better.
Last year, it was announced that the Expanded Universe of Star Wars, the decades worth of novels that many fans have been enjoying, was going to be retconned away, after Disney bought Star Wars from creator George Lucas and announced new movies on the horizon. Many fans, me among them, were very annoyed. If you haven’t read the EU books, there are some great characters and storylines there, and they’d gone far enough past the movies that some of the main characters were the next generation of heroes. Oh well. Comic book companies do it to us all the time. It’s something sci-fi and fantasy fans need to deal with.
