Star Wars #10 comic book review

Ever have one of those days where you just can’t catch a break? That seems to be what Han Solo is going through the last few issues. He and Leia’s mission has gone horribly badly. They have been shot at by Imperials, barely made it to the surface of a virtually unknown world, and then been confronted by a bounty hunter. To make it worse for Han, the bounty hunter, Sana, is referring to herself as a Han’s wife. Han disagrees with this, but it’s definitely not improving his relationship with Leia. The relentless pursuit by the Imperials isn’t making anything any better, either.

Star Wars #9

Our various separated heroes are continuing to have their runs of bad luck On Nar Shadda, Luke has to chase down the thief that made off with his lightsaber. Luke’s chase takes him through a series of good news/bad news adventures. He finally ends up a prisoner of a new foe who has a stunning collection that’s very much of interest to Luke. Unfortunately, his captor intends to add Luke to the collection. It’s not a good day to be an untrained Jedi.

Star Wars #8 comic book review

In part of most Star Wars stories, there comes a point when the heroes are separated and things aren’t going great for them. This seems to be about that point. Luke, having concluded his adventure on Tatooine, is off to his next bit of chaos. Being a famous Rebel with a price on his head doesn’t make anything any easier when he tries to bargain passage to Coruscant amid the seedy bars of Nar Shaddaa. Remember his trip to the cantina in Mos Eisley? Yeah, about that good.

Princess Leia #4

Off on her own, Leia is running around trying to gather up the survivors of Alderaan. She’s being hampered by distrust and paranoia, understandable among a people whose planet was recently destroyed. Survivor’s guilt and blame are a bad combination. Leia and Evaan have added a lot of people to their group, but it’s not all going smoothly. Someone is leaking information to the Empire.

Star Wars #6

The heroes are scattered on their various missions, and none of them are doing wonderfully well. Luke is on Tatooine seeking clues to further his Jedi training. What he does manage to find is Boba Fett, hired to track down the pilot that blew up the Death Star. Those two have a very impressive fight, and both are surprised.

Star Wars #5 review

After the raid on Cymoon, the heroes have split up. Leia is continuing to push ahead with missions for the Rebels, and has found a good way to persuade (or coerce, depending on your point of view) Han to help her. He’s about as happy as you’d expect in that situation. His annoyance might be part of why he’s off his game, and things don’t go spectacularly well for his and Leia’s mission.

Princess Leia #3

Princess Leia is continuing her mission to get to the survivors of Alderaan before the Empire does. Unfortunately, word has gotten out that they’re being hunted, so paranoia and suspicion are growing rampant.

Star Wars #4

Our heroic band of rebels barely pulled a victory out of their last mission, and they are recovering and assessing things in this issue. It’s sort of a catch your breath issue, with some seeds for future plots. Those can be great issues if they’re done well, and this is, for the most part.

Star Wars: Kanan #1

A while ago, Cartoon Network started showing a new cartoon called Star Wars: Rebels, set sometime between the Clone Wars series and the original Star Wars: A New Hope movie. I ended up really liking it. Now, they’re giving Kanan, the Jedi from that show, a miniseries about his past.

Princess Leia #2

Having gone AWOL from the Rebel Alliance, Leia is trying to gather up as many Alderaanian refugees as she can. The Empire is rumored to be hunting down as many of the survivors as they can, in retaliation for the destruction of the Death Star. Should someone tell them Luke’s from Tatooine? Then again, this isn’t his limited series.
