Punisher: Cold Steel

Things continue to get complicated in what seems like it should be a simple quest for the Punisher in “Cold Steel.” For a man trying to avenge his family, he’s getting caught up in a lot of distractions, complications, and general chaos.

Punisher: Crosshairs

As “Crosshairs” begins, Louis is cleaning up from his incident last episode. He’s got O’Connor’s blood, and a bit of his own, all over him. After making the preparations he can, Louis drives home for an awkward scene with his dad.

Punisher: Gunner

We find Agent Madani a bit the worse for wear from the events of last episode. This one starts with her battered, bruised, and recovering, cut with a few flashbacks of the car accident (ok, it wasn’t exactly an accident) and Castle pulling her out.

Punisher: Resupply

The Punisher continues his first season as things progress for him, David AKA Micro, Madani, and her sidekick Sam. There’s a lot going on, and a side story with Louis and Curt as well. But Frank’s main focus is something important to any warrior: “Resupply,” as the title says. The show actually starts with Louis,…

Punisher: Kandahar

The third episode of Punisher’s first season is “Kandahar,” which seems to be where a lot of what’s going on was set in motion. It’s the only central point connecting most of the characters that are playing major parts in the show so far.

Punisher: Two Dead Men

Frank Castle’s story continues in Punisher’s second episode, “Two Dead Men.” In another flashback, he’s riding the ferry with his kids, telling them stories. He quotes the nursery rhyme about, “One bright day in the middle of the night, Two dead men got up to fight,” which is one possible source of the title of…

Punisher: 3 AM

After doing so well in the second season of Daredevil, Punisher became the first Marvel hero to get his own Netfilx series after the original four. Jon Bernthal does a fantastic job playing him.

Defenders: Fish In A Jailhouse

The episodes for the Defenders have mostly had titles that made sense. Episode seven, “Fish In A Jailhouse,” I’m not sure does. When I first saw that, I was wondering if Bobby Fish, one of Luke Cage’s many supporting characters who hasn’t been seen yet, might finally turn up. But he didn’t, and the best explanation I have is the title is a variation on the old saying about shooting fish in a barrel, and the fact that so much of the episode takes place in the police precinct where Misty works, which I guess could be considered a “jailhouse.” That or the writers got clever about something that I just didn’t catch at all.

Defenders: Ashes, Ashes

The Defenders start hurtling towards their finale in “Ashes, Ashes,” episode six out of eight. The fight with the Hand is looking ugly, and that’s not the only ugly thing this time around. The pieces are falling into place for a big confrontation, and there are a lot of changes coming. It’ll be very interesting to see how this all spins out.
