Now that I’ve finally seen it, I don’t think it was anywhere near as bad as the rumors hinted.
It’s very near the end of the road for the Agents of SHIELD. After this, there’s a two hour special finale, and that’s it. So, a moment of silence for the passing of a show I’ve really enjoyed with some great characters.
The final season of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD is ticking down, and things are looking more and more desperate for the agents. The Chronicoms have been one step ahead of them in their mad dash through time, battling over timelines.
I don’t know if it happens often enough to be a trope, per se, but if you have a show that involves time travel, there’s going to be a time loop episode. I’ve seen them on Dr. Who, Legends of Tomorrow, Arrow, and the Magicians, among others.
A quick note about the New Mutants movie
We’re in their last season, the Chronicoms are trying to retroactively erase them from history, and now the Zephyr isn’t working right. Time is very much on everyone’s minds as they try and get their ship, and Yo-Yo, back in working order.
Deke and Mack have been left behind in 1982 for a very odd, but highly entertaining, episode that crams in as many 80’s references as it can.
Things are getting complicated for the Agents of SHIELD as they play a sort of cat and mouse mixed with Quantum Leap type game, trying to keep their history intact. The Chronicoms have some elaborate plans to move up the worst parts of Hydra and take apart the best bits of SHIELD.
The final season of Agents of SHIELD has the team hopping through time, and bouncing back and forth between the East and West Coasts of the United States. Their last stop has landed them in New York City in the 1970’s.
