In 1978, Christopher Reeve brought Superman to movie theaters in what many consider the best take on the role. There have been many different takes on the character since then. My personal top three, as of today, are Christopher Reeve, David Corenswet, and Tyler Hoechlin. Superman is back, and acting like the great hero and incredibly caring man many of us adore and prefer. As with all my current movie reviews, I will do my best to remain spoiler free.
The third season of the deranged but enjoyable madness that is the animated Harley Quinn show careens to an end. Credit where it’s due, they make some changes that I expect will affect the future of the show (the series has been renewed and is targeted to debut sometime this year).
Apparently, the Titans aren’t in a hurry to drive cross-country from Gotham to San Francisco, since the season opens with them in a bowling alley.
Pulling strings behind the scenes is Lex Luthor and his collection of bad guys on one side, and Batman and a secret team on the other. Both sides are clashing with the Outsiders caught in the middle. I can’t imagine things are going to go well when the young heroes learn about the machinations surrounding their attempts to do good work.
After six seasons, lots of monsters, game nights and Balcony Conversations™, Supergirl’s run comes to end. The show is reported to have ended over falling ratings, major delays and complications from the Coronavirus (I guess even Supergirl isn’t immune, get your shots!). Supergirl has run for six seasons, making friends, allies, and enemies, taking part in crossovers, and and trying to find their niche in the Arrowverse. There have been a lot of changes and shifts, new faces, and losses.
The final season of Supergirl has been uneven, and that might be kind. There have been some truly abysmal episodes, and a few decent, but not great ones. We’re back to the “decent” side of things, which is at least better than horrible.
The end is almost here for Supergirl and company. The final season nears the finale, and the race for the totems is on. The team wasn’t doing well facing just Nxyly, and now they have a returned Lex Luthor to deal with, which shakes up everyone.
Supergirl’s sixth and final season is off to an odd start. The Girl of Steel herself has been exiled to the Phantom Zone, so she’s away from all her friends and allies, which is an odd choice for the show winding down.
Last episode of Supergirl was another hybrid sort of thing, being officially the premier of the sixth and final season, but also sort of the finale of season five, all smushed together due to COVID complications. Now, we’re dealing with the new issues introduced last time, as various subplots and status quos are set up for the coming episodes.
