Flash: Versus Zoom

“Versus Zoom” is the most recent episode of Flash, and things are getting ugly. The beginning is an interesting comparison of histories. Barry’s past is recounted, with the death of his mother, being taken in by the Wests, and the love and support he got. Over on Earth 2, a young Hunter Zolomon sees his father return from war, kill his mother, and is dumped into an orphanage, clutching what will later become a very familiar helmet. Vaguely similar beginnings that go down very different paths.

Legends of Tomorrow: Magnificient Eight

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow cross paths with another well-known DC character in “The Magnificent Eight.” They are a lot further out of their element than usual, but it’s really entertaining to see how some of them react to a very romanticized era in history. We also finally learn a bit more about the enigmatic Rip Hunter.

Arrow: 1159

There are some episodes of shows that get people talking. “1159″ is one of those. While it’s become a huge cliche, it’s true that Arrow will never be the same again. It’s also true that, to an extent, history repeats itself. But we’ll get there. I warn you now, there are spoilers in this review because they’re kind of integral to what happens.

Legends of Tomorrow: Left Behind

There are a few spoilers here. I generally try to avoid those, but I needed to include them for the review to work. Proceed at your own risk.

Legends of Tomorrow “Left Behind” picks up pretty much where the previous episode stopped.

Arrow: Beacon of Hope

On “Beacon of Hope,” the Arrow writers bring back Bree Larvin, last seen as a bad girl over on Flash. She’s just as smart as she was before, and manages to use her computer skills to hack her way into early release. Really, who let the genius hacker have computer time? That was a bad decision.

Arrow: Broken Hearts

Arrow comes back from its hiatus with “Broken Hearts,” a title that works on a few levels. The show opens with a couple pleading for their lives. Their tormentor shows up soon enough- Cupid, the crazy archer Team Arrow defeated a while back who went on to become part of ARGUS’ Task Force X. Task Force X is better known by their action branch’s name- the Suicide Squad.

Who’s Who on Legends of Tomorrow

With a nice series of lead-ins from the CW shows Arrow and Flash, Legends of Tomorrow is slated to start airing in January. A mix of heroes and villains from both shows are brought together to fight an immortal foe throughout time. Below is a brief explanation about who the main characters are.

Flash: Gorilla Warfare

After last episode’s brutal fight with Zoom, Barry is wounded and powerless, at least for the most part. His exceptionally rapid healing seems to still be ticking along fine, as he’s gone from not being able to feel his legs to hobbling around on a cane. But with Central City’s speedster out of action, and Firestorm out of town for the foreseeable future, this isn’t a good time for a new crisis. Of course, with a title like “Gorilla Warfare,” you know what’s coming.

Arrow: Haunted

“Haunted” is an event that some fans have been looking forward to for some time. Arrow gets a special guest star from elsewhere in the DC Televison-verse. It also marks a somewhat different milestone for the Flash/Arrow world, but I’ll get to that later.

Assassins and Time Travelers

The last few episodes of Flash and Arrow have seen quite a lot happening for our heroes and villains, alike. With both shows taking a break this week, its time to take a look at everything that has occurred, and what we might expect to see going forward. (Obviously, massive spoilers for both shows follow…
