Black Lightning’s third season has been a grim one so far, with the ASA infesting the streets of Freeland like a conquering army. There are times I’m starting to wonder if Agent Odell is either completely making up, or at least greatly exaggerating, the Markovian threat. If it wasn’t for the one scene with them…
Black Lightning: The Book of Occupation: Chapter Four: Lynn’s Ouroboros
The ASA continues their stranglehold on Freeland, and the strain is showing in many places. Odell is a duplicitous pain in the ass, but he’s very good at it, and the Pierce family seems to his major target at the moment. It’s painful to see some of what spills out of all this, and a former foe of Jefferson’s is back and actually attempting to be heroic.
Black Lightning: The Book of Occupation: Chapter Three: Agent Odell’s Pipe Dream
The new comic book style openings are really working for Black Lightning. They make the long, drawn-out titles make a lot more sense. The current story is grim, and there are a lot of things lined up against our heroes, but it’s still very well-done television.
Black Lightning: The Book of Occupation: Chapter Two: Maryam’s Tasbih
Freeland is still under siege, the ASA is ruling with an iron fist, and half of the Pierce family are still in “protective custody.” Things aren’t looking great for the good guys.
Black Lightning: The Book of Occupation: Chapter One: The Birth of Blackbird
It’s been quite a while since we saw the heroes of Freeland, and things haven’t been going well for pretty much anybody. There’s a very new and different status quo for our heroes, and the bad guys seem to be ahead on almost every front.
Black Lightning: The Book of the Apocalypse: Chapter Two: The Omega
Black Lightning wraps up the second season with a lot of twists and turns. I wasn’t sure where they were going, and when the end came, I didn’t see it coming at all. I was thrilled when Black Lightning debuted, and, while it’s had problems, I still think it’s a great show.
Black Lightning: The Book of the Apocalypse: Chapter One: Alpha
Black Lightning starts off the two-part season finale with “The Book of the Apocalypse: Chapter One: The Alpha.”
Black Lightning: The Book of Secrets: Chapter Four: Original Sin
Black Lightning’s “The Book of Secrets: Chapter Four: Original Sin” could just as easily have been titled “Everyone Has A Bad Day.”
Black Lightning: The Book of Secrets: Chapter Three: Pillar of Fire
Things are building to a head as the end of the season gets closer for Black Lightning. “The Book of Secrets: Chapter Three: Pillar of Fire,” not only continues the trend of long titles, but brings several sides of things into conflict. Tobias Whale makes a bold move, Jefferson comes to a surprising, but…
Black Lightning: Just and Unjust
“Just and Unjust” is a very emotionally charged episode of Black Lightning, and deals with several things the other DC/CW shows ignore.
