Watchmen: An Almost Religious Awe

We’ve gotten to the last third of season one of Watchmen, and things are getting stranger and stranger. There’s been an origin for Hooded Justice, which never happened in the original comics, some fleshing out of the elements in their modern world, and a lot of twists and turns.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

I have a bookcase (not shelf, case) that’s well past full of Star Wars novels. I’ve played the role playing games, had just about all the original run of action figures, and enjoyed the Galaxies online game until they killed it with the big revision later. So, I’m a fan.

Titans: Fallen

The previous episode ended with one of Dick Grayson’s many bad decisions in this series. Now he’s in prison (apparently we skipped the arraignment, trial, or any of those pesky details), after pleading guilty and being sentenced to seven years.

Batwoman: A Mad Tea Party

One of the things that’s been impressing me about Batwoman is that the writers are taking time to develop the subplots. It’s easy for hero shows to turn into “villain of the week,” but that hasn’t really been happening.

Jessica Jones: AKA Hellcat

The season, and series, are almost over, and there have been a lot of surprises and twists along the way. Trish got her wish, and it’s done pretty much nothing good for her (or for Jessica, for that matter). Now Dorothy’s dead, Salinger is still causing problems, the sisters are getting pushed further apart by Trish’s poor judgement.

Harley Quinn: Til Death Do Us Part

…the former psychiatrist turned loony villain/anti-hero (depending on who’s writing her), Harley Quinn. The DC Universe streaming service went ahead with an animated series for the character, with a 13 episode first season and a roughly half hour running time per episode.

Arrow: Reset

The Arrow Farewell Tour has checked in with a lot of important places and characters as we say a long, gradual goodbye to the show that’s given us eight seasons of heroics and action. One important player we haven’t seen yet makes their return in this episode for their (probably) final bow.

Watchmen: This Extraordinary Being

They’ve done some good worldbuilding and storytelling in this series. They touch on some things from the original comics, less so the movie, and develop a lot of good new stuff. Now, they combine both those things, as we learn a lot about a character from the comics whose story was never really told in detail.
