Superman and Lois: Into Oblivion

It’s been a rough season for Superman and Lois (and everyone else on the show, for that matter). Bizarro came by, Lois’ estranged sister has been causing problems, there’s a drug scandal, and Kyle’s affair over in the Cushing household. Steel was nearly killed and has been a long time recovering, and Ally Alston and General Anderson have teamed up, which isn’t good news for anyone, possibly on two different worlds. Several of these plots move forward in “Into Oblivion,” which managed to have an ending that surprised me.

Titans: Purple Rain

The third season of Titans has reached its end. They have already announced a fourth, and a few casting announcements for it (Brother Blood, Jinx, maybe Lex Luthor). But before we get there, the team needs to come back together, find a way to beat Jonathan Crane, and save the city from more mayhem.

Legends of Tomorrow: Too Legit To Quit

Now the team has this episode, and one more, to wrap things up before the season ends. For now, the team is “Too Legit To Quit.” Despite the title nod and other musical stars occasionally popping up, MC Hammer doesn’t guest star this week.

The Batman

After a bit longer than I’d have liked, I finally got to see “The Batman.” I’ve been reading comics since the 80’s (yes, I’m old) and Batman is among my favorite characters.

Peacemaker: Stop Dragon My Heart Around

Peacemaker’s first season is almost over. We’ve learned about the threat of the alien butterfly invasion, seen the really weird dynamics of this not-quite-a-team, and gotten some insights into at least some of the characters. Now things are building up to the final confrontation, and it’s getting ugly.

Young Justice: Early Warning

After a longer break than I intended to take, I got some time to return to highly enjoyable and really well done Young Justice cartoon. This season’s subtitle has been “Outsiders” and, while it’s not exactly a recreation of the team Batman founded in the comics in the 80’s, it’s been cleverly done and shows the increasingly complex world these stories are happening in.

Batman Soul of the Dragon (Quick Thoughts on TikTok)

Batman Soul Of The Dragon is so many things. It’s a spy movie, a martial arts movie, a ’70s movie… Or maybe it’s just all those things tossed in the wonder, added something else entirely. What we really could have used was another 5 minutes of run time. Anyway, if you have HBO Max, Batman…

Batwoman: Broken Toys

Now, the team races to recover a lot of lost items (they really need to get better at holding on to their stuff) and a new character is introduced to the Bat-mythos that fills a role I don’t think they’ve ever touched on before. They really are having a lot of problems with “Broken Toys.” The episode also continues the Arrowverse tradition of letting the cast direct, as Camrus Johnson (Luke Fox) takes over for this episode.
