Spider-Man: Homecoming review

I’m a huge hero fan, and have been reading comics for decades. Yes, decades. So I like to think I’m at least a decent judge of hero movies. I’ll sum this up quickly and then go in to detail later. Spider-Man: Homecoming is fantastic. It’s a great addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and I’d say the best Spider-Man movie I’ve ever seen. And I liked the Tobey Maguire ones. At least the first one.

Champions #3 review

The new Champions (absolutely no relation to the 1970’s team) is continuing to come together. They have their membership established, as far as we know, but they are still working things out like who’s in charge, which comes up over and over this issue. Personally, I’d probably vote for Ms. Marvel, but who knows what’ll happen.

Spider-Man 2099 #1 review

The chaos of the Secret Wars event seems to be over in most of the Marvel Universe, and the new status quo is being established. I don’t get a lot of Marvel titles, so I don’t quite know what’s going on in all of this. It would appear that the “main” Marvel Earth and that of the Ultimates merged, kind of like after the Crisis on Infinite Earths over in DC back in the 80’s. I don’t know why Peter Parker is head of a big company now, but that seems to be the case.

Spider-Man 2099 #11

Miguel’s had a rough few issues. He’s been caught up in the Spider-Verse crossover, sent to the future, seen a really nasty version of it, and dealt with the Maestro. You’d think after all that, he’d deserve a break. But, along with spider-powers, Miguel shares a trend for bad luck with Peter Parker, the original Spider-Man.

Spider-Man 2099 #9

Peter David has written a lot of comics. He’s come up with some new characters that have really impressed me over time. I actually read and enjoyed his run on the Hulk, and that’s not a character I’ve ever cared for. The man is impressive.
