Now, the new JSA has different challenges to face, dissension in the ranks, and a new theme for the season. The new season kicks off with “Frenemies: Chapter One: The Murder.”
The first season was a girl trying to become a hero. The second has been about a pervasive, brooding evil, at times more like a horror movie than a superhero action series. Now, Stargirl and her allies band together to try and end the malevolence of Eclipso as the Summer School series comes to an end with “Chapter 13.”
Stargirl’s Summer School is almost done. It’s been an impressive season, with the evil of Eclipso and the havoc he (it?) has wreaked throughout Blue Valley and on the JSA.
The great evil of Eclipso was released by Cindy Burman AKA Shiv, Stargirl’s nemesis, and the town has been paying for it, especially those nearest and dearest to Courtney. While the titular plotline has been pretty much dropped as part of the story, the evil of Eclipso continues in “Summer School, Chapter Eleven.”
They’ve been doing a good job showing Cindy Burman, AKA Shiv, putting together a team to challenge Stargirl’s fledgling Justice Society of America. Now, at least most of the pieces are in place and Cindy is making her move.
Stargirl’s first season wraps up with a hell of a fight. The series has been confirmed for a second season, but it will be only on the CW, as all the series from DC Universe are abandoning that sinking ship.
Now there are loose ends to deal with after the events of last time, and yet more of poor Pat trying to ride herd on neophyte heroes who are lacking in everything except guts.
There’s some team training, an unexpected emotional outburst, bad cover stories, and some light shed on yet another secret of Blue Valley.
