Between the show being a mid-season slot and all the COVID issues, it’s been a year since we saw the Legends of Tomorrow. The last thing we saw was the defeat of the Fates, a big celebration after, and then Sara unexpectedly kidnapped by aliens without the others seeing.
Season seven’s premier seemed, to me at least, more like the season finale we didn’t get last time.
Superman and Lois absolutely respects their source material, and does a great job giving a few changes that work in the modern era without making everything dark, edgy, and mean, or ridiculously saccharine sweet. It manages to be about family and get the tone right for the dynamics, and still have plenty of Super-action.
After a very long hiatus, Black Lightning is back for what is sadly a final season. I have no idea why the show is ending, and, judging from some of the cast reactions, it was a surprise to at least some of them, too.

After an impressive first season, the arguably strangest superheroes in the world are back. The Doom Patrol apparently has a much shorter second season, but they’re off to a crazed and crammed start.
The Agents of SHIELD have been through a lot. Spinning out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and even having a few guest stars from the MCU, the agents have drifted further and further from the movies, and the hoped-for crossover, or at least connection, with the now defunct Marvel/Netflix shows never happened. “Legendary” and “iconic” are words that get tossed around a bit too easily and often these days, but sometimes they apply. In 1986, Alan Moore wrote a stunningly different comic book limited series called the Watchmen.
It can be argued the modern era of superhero television got its start with Smallville. That show to one side, the more direct start would have to be Arrow, which spawned the CW DC Universe, which is up to five shows now and hundreds of characters.
