Agents of SHIELD: Self-Control

The Agents of SHIELD have a really hard time of things in “Self Control.” As we saw last episode, much of the team has been captured and replaced by LMD’s. The few real agents left at the top are going to have a hell of a job stopping the LMD’s from taking over and replacing…

Agents of SHIELD: The Man Behind The Shield

There’s a scientific principle that correlation doesn’t equal causation. In other words, just because there seems to be a connection between two things, it doesn’t mean that one makes the other happen. This is something that Watchdog Superior Ivanov clearly doesn’t have a handle on. He is convinced that all the aliens, big disasters,…

Agents of SHIELD: Boom

The Agents of SHIELD get a new problem to deal with in “Boom,” which also gives us a new spin on an old Marvel villain. I’m not wild about the LMD plotline dragging on as long as it is, but this one has some interesting nuances to it. It’s not the best episode for the…

Agents of SHIELD: Hot Potato Soup

Things just keep getting stranger for the Agents of SHIELD in “Hot Potato Soup.” Then again, things always get strange when the Agents Koenig are involved. Patton Oswalt does a great job as usual, while the rest of the team has to try and keep up with the problems of far too many people…

Agents of SHEILD: Wake Up

“Wake Up” is one of the more unnerving episodes of Agents of SHIELD. I still don’t know if it’s coincidence that they are delving in to this LMD storyline just after HBO’s Westworld series finished its first season, but it’s an interesting coincidence, and the two have a lot of parallels. This episode jumps…

Agents of SHIELD: The Patriot

The Agents of SHIELD are back with, “The Patriot.” When the new Director was brought on, some comic fans recognized the name: Jeffrey Mace, the Patriot, one of the World War II characters that replaced the missing Captain America. Now, we finally get to learn more about what’s going on with him. I will say…

Agents of SHIELD: Broken Promises

Agents of SHIELD is the first of the comic book hero shows back from the winter/holiday break. I suppose that makes sense. All the other heroes work for themselves, and SHIELD works for the government, so they can’t take the longer vacation. “Broken Promises” follows up on a few elements of the cliffhangers from last…

Agents of SHIELD: Inferno Dynamics

I’m not quite sure what they’re doing with the scheduling for Agents of SHIELD, but it’s getting a bit odd. They took a random few week break, came back last week, now this week is their “winter finale.” I guess working for SHIELD must come with a great vacation package.

Agents of SHIELD: Deals with our Devils

After an odd few-week hiatus, the Agents of SHIELD return to “Deal With Our Devils.” Of course, with Ghost Rider running around, that might not be a figure of speech. What we do get is an interesting continuation of where things left off, and some pretty interesting story-telling techniques.

Agents of SHIELD: Uprising

Things are getting ugly for the Agents of SHIELD in “Uprising.” The team spends a lot of the episode scattered all over as they deal with various aspects of both the events of this episode in particular and some of the plots that are stretching over the season. It’s not a good episode for almost anyone on the team, really.
