Legends of Tomorrow: Welcome To The Jungle

The Legends keep running into people connected to them in the past: younger versions of themselves, ancestors, and, the just-won’t-stay-dead Damian Darhk. That trend continues in “Welcome to the Jungle,” which lands the team in 1967 Viet Nam, during the war. That was dangerous enough on its own, but you know that if the team goes there, it’s worse than it seems.

Legends of Tomorrow: Phone Home

I’ll be one of the first to admit that Legends of Tomorrow is an uneven show. They do some weird stuff and have had their share of issues with some episodes. But they are a generally entertaining bunch of lunatics, and when they embrace that, you get a really entertaining episode.

Legends of Tomorrow: Zari

Now that they’ve gotten the season going, we’re back to the voice-over intros for the Legends of Tomorrow. Sara is doing it this week, and talks about how they broke time. She’s a bit sarcastic, if accurate, and it’s an amusing lead-in for the show.

Legends of Tomorrow: Freakshow

Still not quite done with “What We Did On Our Summer Vacation,” Legends of Tomorrow starts again with another six month flashback. This time it’s Amaya and Nate, being a happy domestic couple and her preparing a special birthday surprise for him. They get some flirting time in the kitchen, but when he runs…

I keep hearing a few people fretting about “hero fatigue,” but I certainly don’t have it, and, judging from the box office for Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2, a lot of other people don’t, either. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is fantastic, with Spider-Man: Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok coming this year. I’m a lot less impressed with the DC Expanded Universe (although I’m one of the few that apparently enjoyed Suicide Squad), but I was pleasantly surprised by Wonder Woman.

Legends of Tomorrow: Aruba

Legends of Tomorrow ends its second season with a really chaotic episode that has the pleasant-sounding title of “Aruba.” Well, taking a tropical vacation is a lovely idea, but it probably wouldn’t make for a very interesting episode. What we get instead is the climactic battle between the Legends and the Legion of Doom.…

Legends of Tomorrow: Doomworld

Last time, the bad guys won in an ugly, decisive way. The Legion of Doom got the Spear of Destiny, and they used it. How bad is it? Well, Eobard Thawne, the Reverse Flash, is doing the opening voiceover now, which can’t be a good sign. As he says at the end, “It’s a brave…
