Part four of the Crisis on Infinite Earths featured the death (again) of Oliver Queen and a huge battle with the Anti-Monitor. The world was saved, and it seemed like everything was wrapped up. So why is there a part five?
The Legends of Tomorrow continue their round-robin turns on the introductory voice-over. This week, it’s Jax’s turn as the team deals with “Compromises.” The opening scene starts off as Damian Darhk in what seems like it should be an old Miami Vice episode. However, as the DEA rolls up and tries to make a bust, Darhk gets help from a villain we’ve seen with him before: Reverse-Flash, although so far he’s mostly avoiding his costume. The two of them are feeling each other out about a partnership that bodes ill for every hero in the CW-verse.
Legends of Tomorrow’s new voice-over intro is done by Sara, which makes sense given the events of the episode. At the end of last episode, the Legends met a version of the Justice Society of America (also the title of the episode), consisting of Commander Steel, Dr. Midnight, Hourman, Obsidian, Stargirl, and Vixen. I’ll offer my commentary on that line up in a separate section after the main review. Typical for a first meeting of heroes, they fight at first, and the Legends get their collective butts kicked. I’m not quite sure how Stargirl’s cosmic rod split Firestorm back into Stein and Jax, but that’s another issue.
