iZombie: Death Moves Pretty Fast

Tensions are rising in New Seattle, and things are looking ugly for just about everyone, really. I’ve always admired this show’s willingness and ability to change up the status quo, and they keep doing that.

Iron Fist: The Dragon Dies at Dawn

Iron Fist’s second season continues with “The Dragon Dies at Dawn.” This, as with the other titles this season, is borrowed from an earlier comic; in this case, Iron Fist 9 from 1976. We see Danny dealing with his loss, an attempted family reconciliation, and Davos working on his own list but only needing to check it once.

iZombie: dot zom

This episode of iZombie manages to combine the usual murder of the week while moving several of the subplots forward. The rabidly anti-zombie forces in New Seattle are deep-rooted and more pervasive than I thought, and are starting to surprise Liv and friends.

Iron Fist: Target Iron Fist

The fourth episode of Iron Fist’s second season is “Target: Iron Fist,” originally used for Danny’s own comic back in 1977 (Issue 13).  The episode uses a trope I’m getting really sick of: a dramatic opening scene and then rewinding to see how we got there.

iZombie: Six, Seven, Ate!

On the final season of iZombie, the walled city of New Seattle is at war with itself. There are zombies, anti-zombie bigots, Filmore-Graves trying to keep order, the police, Liv’s Renegade network, and still some fairly normal people trying to just get by.

Iron Fist: This Deadly Secret

Continuing this season’s tradition of reusing titles, “This Deadly Secret” came from Power Man and Iron Fist 99, back in 1983. The triad issues inch forward, Danny gets told some confusing things, and Colleen makes a few discoveries of her own.

Gotham: The Beginning

After five seasons, Gotham finally comes to an end. There was a lot of speculation about how it would end, and, among the fans, some worry. We didn’t need to worry. I think it was a perfect ending, and, for what they did, we couldn’t have had a better title.

Iron Fist: The City’s Not For Burning

The second episode of Iron Fist’s second, and regrettably last, season has the looming Triad war looking more and more likely, if not inevitable. Peace is not an easy thing among bitter enemies, and there are a few outside agents making things worse.

iZombie: Thug Death

When I first heard about the iZombie show, I had some doubts. Something or other about it interested me enough to watch the first episode, and I was hooked. I’ve seen them all since, and I’m sorry this is the final season.
