Welcome back to Comic Book Classics Revisited! We’ve made it to Crisis on Infinite Earths #10. The story so far has seen the evil Anti-Monitor traveling to the dawn of time to recreate only anti-matter universes instead of the multiverse that was created originally. Meanwhile, the villains of the DC Multiverse are making their play to take over the remaining Earths. Now, Psimon is looking to destroy both Brainiac and Earth 1’s Lex Luthor to seize control of the villains…

Eight issues down, only four to go before a new DC Universe rises from the ashes. Comic Book Classics Revisited has made it to Crisis on Infinite Earths #9 and it’s time to enter the final act! Up to this point, the surviving beneficiaries of the Monitor’s power, Lyla, Alexander Luther (of Earth 3), and Pariah, have managed to protect only five of the remaining thousands of universes in a pocket “netherverse”, but they are not out of the woods yet.

The heroes fought back against the dreaded Anti-Monitor, and actually hurt him, but they paid a horrible price. Supergirl died to give the five remaining universes hope. There is a little time now to figure out how to merge the universes together without everything being destroyed. However, the Anti-Monitor isn’t done yet and there is still one major death yet to happen. Comic Book Classics Revisited now presents Crisis on Infinite Earths #8.

Comic Book Classics Revisited has finally entered the blackest week in our series’ short run. The Grim Reaper is going to make a couple stops this week. First, Crisis on Infinite Earths #7 deals out death to an under-appreciated character that would later be heavily mourned by the DC faithful. After seeing for themselves the crazy, mixed up timeline occurring while Earth 1 and Earth 2 slowly merge together, the heroes agree to work with Harbinger, Alexander Luthor, and Pariah to save what’s left of the multiverse against the grotesque and evil Anti-Monitor!

Welcome back to Comic Book Classics Revisited! Last week saw the conclusion of our first classic to be revisited, Secret Wars, and with the start of this week, it’s time to take a look at a DC Comics classic – Crisis on Infinite Earths. With Convergence, DC Comics’ 2015 event, on the horizon, and with many of the tie-ins dealing with characters from Crisis, I thought this might be the perfect time to take a closer look at this series.
