There’s still no real progress on finding out who killed the Gambler, Cindy seems to have dropped out of sight, the JSA still isn’t working like a team, and Pat is recovering from his recent trip to the Shadowlands. Add in the Mahkent grandparents really sliding to the dark side, and there’s a lot to chose from for the title “Frenemies: Chapter Nine: The Monsters.”
I am going to talk about an amazing comic book which is one of the darkest comic books I’ve read: Tom Taylor’s DCeased.

Rita is actually motivated for once, having a vested interest in stopping Madame Rouge now. The rest of the team, as usual, is wrapped up in their own drama…
One of the Titans’ biggest foes in the New Teen Titans run was Brother Blood, a powerful cult leader. One of Blood’s inner circle gives us the title for this episode as the team clashes with “Mother Mayhem.”
This episode is more Ocean’s Eleven than Superman: The Movie. I’m a little disturbed by how often Barry seems to be taking the “I know better than you do,” tack lately.
As part of the “Dawn of DC” in the wake of the major Dark Crisis event, Shazam! has his own book again and it’s very true to the original stories.
The third season of the deranged but enjoyable madness that is the animated Harley Quinn show careens to an end. Credit where it’s due, they make some changes that I expect will affect the future of the show (the series has been renewed and is targeted to debut sometime this year).
The sadly final series of Stargirl is moving onward, although with little progress to the central mystery of who killed the Gambler. The new JSA has spent a lot of this season bickering and fighting each other, but now we finally get to see some actual teamwork.
I do hear a few folks going on about “superhero fatigue,” but to me, it seems like that’s either something they really want to have happen, or they have a specific agenda.
There have been some spoilers about who is coming, and some that I, at least, didn’t know were part of it. The title “Hear No Evil” should have been a clue that Hartley Rathaway, the Pied Piper, was making his return.
