I really had no idea what to expect from the second season of Batwoman, and they manage to keep surprising me anyway. The new Batwoman has worked out brilliantly in almost every regard, Alice has an interesting new storyline, and Luke and Mary are left wrestling with grief and uncertainty after Kate’s disappearance.
Freeland is starting to sound almost as bad as Gotham is traditionally shown to be. The Book of Reconstruction continues with Chapter Three: Despite All My Rage.
Superman and Lois absolutely respects their source material, and does a great job giving a few changes that work in the modern era without making everything dark, edgy, and mean, or ridiculously saccharine sweet. It manages to be about family and get the tone right for the dynamics, and still have plenty of Super-action.
The second season of Batwoman continues to impress. I think at this point, five episodes in, it’s safe to say it’s well on track for being a better season than the first.
The beginning of Black Lightning’s final season was a surprise in many ways. None of the characters seem to be doing particularly well, dealing with the aftermath of the Markovian attack. The status quo has definitely been changed for just about everyone.
The second season of Batwoman has gone from something that I was worried about to something that’s been really impressing me. It’s a dicey situation when you lose your lead actor, but they’ve managed to rise above the problem and, in my opinion, make the show even better.
After a very long hiatus, Black Lightning is back for what is sadly a final season. I have no idea why the show is ending, and, judging from some of the cast reactions, it was a surprise to at least some of them, too.
Batwoman’s second season continues to impress as we see the adventures of Gotham’s newest crimefighter. We learn some of Alice’s history, get conflicting stories about Kate’s plane crash, and learn about Safiyah, a name that’s been floating around in the background for some time now.
Now, with our new status quo, we have Ryan Wilder as a very unlikely Batwoman, and Kate’s former allies (and enemies) are trying to adjust to the changed circumstances.
Events are really picking up steam as so many plotlines crash into each other in this episode. There are questions about allegiance, honesty, the future, and the past, as characters deal with some very wrenching discoveries on many fronts.
