Thor #4 review

I have been loving the Thor book since Jason Aaron started writing Thor: God of Thunder. He truly has a great feel for adventures worthy of a Thunder God. I had my doubts when the new female Thor was announced. Very few of them remain. The new Thor, whoever she is, keeps proving herself, and doing so really well. This issue, she not only needs to deal with Maleketh and Dagger the Minotaur, but the original Thor comes by, and he wants his hammer back.

Agent Carter: The Blitzkrieg Button

Peggy Carter really does seem to be attacked from all directions in “The Blitzkrieg Button.” Leviathan is still out there somewhere, plotting. Howard Stark is back, and he has some questionable motives. And, due in part to how Howard came back, a smuggler called Mr. Mink is after Peggy and Jarvis, with a very odd weapon. It looks something like a Gatling pistol to me. And, of course, she’s still getting clubbed over the head by the “Men are awesome, women are worthless” theme of the show, over and over and over, but more on that later.

Before we get too far ahead of ourselves, let’s get a quick catch up and then crack open the issue!

Moon Knight 11 (comic book review)

Last issue, Marc Spector took a desperate gamble, apparently attacking a UN diplomat to break up a complicated plot involving assassins, a very unusual psychiatrist, and Khonshu apparently choosing a new mortal agent.  “Rendered” shows Spector in an anonymous holding facility, going through the routine of his cell, an exercise space, and some kind of…

Comic Book Classics Revisited: Secret Wars #6

Comic Book Classics Revisited is back! Today, we’re going to crack open Secret Wars #6! Last issue, the heroes held back another attack by the villains with the help of the X-Men. All the while, Galactus is preparing to devour Battleworld and all those on it. A love triangle is forming between Colossus, the Human Torch, and the alien healer Zsaji. Most importantly, Doctor Doom sneaked aboard Galactus’ ship and is looking for ways to gain all the power and take the war for himself.
