I think you’ve got this constant desire to look back at the past (Marvel is doing it too with their new Secret Wars) because that’s what EVERYONE does now (that’s why TMNT is back on TV and in the movies, ditto Transformers, Jurassic Park, Ghostbusters). I think it’s part laziness, part fanservice to the base (“you liked it last time, you’ll like it again this time!”), part money… a CLOG of bullsh@t, if you will.
