Some have been tragic, some dramatic, and a few have been more on the humorous side. “What If Happy Hogan Saved Christmas?” is definitely one of those. There’s all kinds of action and a few nods to assorted Christmas stories as we see an Avengers Christmas party like no other.
The Secret Invasion is here, and things are getting complicated. Like with many Marvel movies, the bad guys here at least have an understandable motivation.
The next installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe kicked off on Disney+, with another six-part series that combines some familiar characters and some new ones, creating a new threat. Adapting a major comic book story, with the required necessary changes for the screen, is always a difficult task, but I think they did reasonably well with the first episode of Secret Invasion.
San Diego Comic Con, SDCC as most call it, is a hugely anticipated fan event. It’s the place where, among other things, a lot of big announcments are made. This year is no expection, and the folks at Marvel did a lot of talking about forthcoming projects. We got some character confirmations, specific release dates…
Finally, there’s a break in the darkness… mostly. Things take a turn for the comedic, and we sort of get an MCU/80’s Spring Break movie mash up as the Watcher looks into “What If… Thor Were An Only Child?”
One of the things I love about the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the interconnectedness of it all. While you can watch each movie on its own (except for probably Infinity War and Endgame), it’s so much richer as a story and experience if you follow them all.
