The Most Anticipated Comic Book Movies of 2020

covid 19Due to the worldwide Covid-19 outbreak, this year’s comic book movie release schedule has been delayed.  Many comic book movies scheduled for theatrical release in 2020 have been pushed back to later in the year or to 2021.  As far as we can tell, there will be only two major comic book movie releases in 2020. Here’s what we know so far:

 

Black Widow

Release Date: November 6, 2020
Director: Cate Shortland
Cast: Scarlett Johansson, Rachel Weisz, Florence Pugh, O-T Fagbenle and David Harbour
The long anticipated Black Widow movie was originally going to be released on May 1, 2020, but it has been pushed back to November 6, 2020. Some plot elements are though to include Black Widow teaming up with Yelena and Red Guardian going up against Task Master.

Wonder Woman 1984

Release Date: August 14, 2020
Director: Patty Jenkins
Cast: Gal Gadot, Kristen Wiig, Chris Pine, and Pedro Pascal
The original release for Wonder Woman 1984 was slated for November 2019, but it was then moved to June 5, 2020.  Now, it has been delayed due to coronavirus to August 14, 2020. The plot is thought to revolve around Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor facing off against the villain Cheetah.
