The animated Harley Quinn series is back for a fourth season. In an interesting media crossover, some of what happened between seasons three and four was covered in a comic book limited series, “Legion of Bats.” But now the show is back, with, among other things, Harley and Ivy trying to find a new balance in their lives, since Harley is working with the Bat-family in Batman’s absence, and Ivy is running the Legion of Doom. Talk about a mixed marriage.
The third season of the deranged but enjoyable madness that is the animated Harley Quinn show careens to an end. Credit where it’s due, they make some changes that I expect will affect the future of the show (the series has been renewed and is targeted to debut sometime this year).
Picking up from where last episode left off, the crew has a major battle raging. Scarecrow’s new potion has twisted an aspect of Ivy’s powers, and the resulting ugly is rampaging through Gotham’s Robinson Park.
There’s a line from an Eagle’s song that goes “What do you do when your dream comes true and it’s not quite like you planned?” That’s pretty much where Harley finds herself now that she’s in the Legion of Doom.
I’m finding the Harley Quinn show uneven. They do some great ideas and clever twists, and then do some kind of weak and obvious material. This episode, oddly mixed both extremes.
