Yet Another Fantastic Four Movie Review

So a new movie came out this weekend. It’s called Fant4stic. Or Fant-Four-Stic. Or it might be a movie in Klingon called Fan T’Four Stic, which probably translates to “career suicide by way of a jagged dagger” or something just as violent sounding. Oh, wait, that guy on the far right looks like Marvel’s ever-lovin’ Thing! This is the Fantastic Four! That’s what this is!

Comic Book Classics Revisited: The Death of Superman Part 7

And so we’ve come to the end of the epic Death of Superman story arc! Part 7, which was published in 1993 as Superman #75 , is basically a money shot heaven for comic book fans hungering after splash page after splash page. This completes that whole “counting down” to Superman’s death with each of these final parts having one fewer panel per page than the one before. This also makes covering the blow-by-blow dissection of this issue very easy for me. So, without further delay, let’s get ready to RUMBLE!!!!!!!!

Comic Book Classics Revisited: The Death of Superman Part 6

Comic Book Classics Revisited reaches the home stretch of the epic story The Death of Superman! Last time, we discovered that Doomsday’s bloodlust is leading him directly to Metropolis after seeing a commercial for a wrestling match being held at the arena in Superman’s adopted home city. It doesn’t take long for Superman to catch the gist of what Doomsday’s up to when he hears Doomsday sorta speak the word “Metropolis” when looking at a road sign for the city of tomorrow. After Superman and Guardian were both knocked out near the Cadmus home base, Doomsday is coming for Metropolis… And there’s no one stopping the monster from arriving. Now, let’s take a look at Superman: Man of Steel #19 also known as The Death of Superman Part 6!

Comic Book Classics Revisited: The Death of Superman Part 4

The Justice League has been defeated! Doomsday continues his destructive (and murderous?) rampage across the country! And now, it leaves only Superman to stop the monster! Welcome back to Comic Book Classics Revisited. Today, we are looking at The Death of Superman Part 4 (Adventures of Superman #487). Where we last left off, Superman was chasing after Doomsday after the monster destroyed the home of teenage jerk Mitch and his mother. With the Justice League down, Mitch cried out to Superman to come back and save him and his family from the fiery rubble of their home. Superman is caught between a rock and a hard place – stop Doomsday or save the family that were innocent bystanders of Doomsday’s rampage.

Comic Book Classics Revisited: The Death of Superman Part 3

Doomsday is here! Comic Book Classics Revisited is taking a deeper look at the 1992 blockbuster event The Death of Superman. Up to this point, a monster stronger than the entire might of the Justice League (minus Superman who was on TV at the time) is rampaging through the countryside and heading toward Metropolis. Now, in Superman (vol. 2) #74, the man of steel himself has entered the fray to stop this beast. Let’s take a look, shall we?

Comic Book Classics Revisited: The Death of Superman Part 1

Hello and welcome to Comic Book Classics Revisited! We’re starting a new cycle today and this time, I decided to take a look back at The Death of Superman. Oh, I can already hear your groans as I type this. “Why waste time on a gimmick story?” you might ask. Or, you might say, “The story is so overblown and overhyped and overrated. You’re going to defend it?” Yes. Yes I am! But I’ll get more into this after we go through the first part of this monumental storyline – Superman: The Man of Steel #18!

Comic Book Classics Revisited: The Avengers (vol. 3) #22

Welcome to Comic Book Classics Revisited, and our final chapter of my Ultron Handbook – The Avengers (1998) #22. Up to this point, the murderous Ultron has slaughtered and entire European country, kidnapped five Avengers (and the villainous Grim Reaper), and replicated himself a whole bunch of times. Simply based upon the cover, if you’re able to tear your eyes off of Scarlet Witch’s midriff, things don’t look so good. But the Avengers never give up and I’m willing to bet Ultron has another thing coming if he thinks he’s got this in the bag.

Comic Book Classics Revisited: The Avengers (vol. 3) #21

Oh my are we really getting into some comic book, superhero goodness with today’s Comic Book Classics Revisited! What better way to enter into the last two comics in my Ultron Handbook than to have a reminder of how exciting these stories used to be? As The Avengers (1998) #21 starts, we are getting a recap of Ultron’s brutal invasion and decimation of Baltic nation Slorenia. The United Nations forces taking part in “Operation Metalstorm” are experiencing heavy resistance from the cybernetic/zombified former citizens of Slorenia. Just when the U.N. forces are sure they are about to be utterly wiped out…
