Saga Volume One comic book review

saga-volume-1I like wild, imaginative stories, but the characters you come across in Saga… well, this was a new one on me.

Oh, and SPOILER ALERT, I love it.

I know this isn’t exactly hot off the presses, but that’s the thing about comics (or art in general) – if you haven’t seen it, it’s new to you.  Such is the case with Saga.  The story unfolds against the backdrop of a lush galaxy that would make Star Wars blush with embarrassment.  The characters are wonderfully realized, well-rounded and the designs!

This is Prince Robot IV.  Bask in his magnificence.  And wait till you see the screen in action – just wait.  (But you don’t have to wait long.)

Oh, and The Stalk!  OH, AND – Look, I don’t want to spoil it for you.  Go on this journey.  Meet this characters, go to strange places, see what this book has to say about war, love, politics, relationships and more with more imagination than you could fit in the cargo hold of a Millennium Falcon.

I don’t know why I keep referencing Star Wars – this book is nothing like Star Wars.

Anyway, check out Saga.

Then come back here and thank me.

You’re welcome.
