Thoughts on Leonard Nimoy, new Spider-Man movie & new CW superhero show

It’s hard to believe, isn’t it?  For some reason, I always thought Mr. Spock would be with us forever.  But, if Leonard Nimoy’s iconic character taught us anything, such thoughts are “highly illogical.”

I know Leonard Nimoy is not strictly related to comics, but certainly there have been Star Trek comics and of course, Mr. Nimoy’s impact on Geek Culture cannot be denied.  He was a superb actor who played on Broadway, pimped for Biblo (see below) and also took photographs…  yeah, look into that one on your own time.  NSFW!  And, Star Trek IV:  The Voyage Home (directed by Mr. Nimoy) was the most successful film of the franchise (financially) until the reboot.

Go Lenny, go!

In the one going Spider-Man confusa-thon, I guess the next movie is going to be called Spectacular Spider-Man, with a new lead actor and director Drew Goddard (Cabin in the Woods – rrr…  huh.  Interesting choice.) and will heavily feature the Sinister Six so… does that mean the last two movies are cannon?  I guess we’ll find out.

Are you (fans of Arrow and The Flash) excited to see this spinoff show?  I’m just excited to see Brandon Routh in something that’s not a terrible Christmas movie.  This new show will take place in the same universe as Arrow and The Flash, giving DC what, two TV Universes and their Movie Universe?  Am I the only one who finds this confusing?  Maybe they’ll link it all together via Crisis – that’d be something!  Hopefully, they have a plan… let me know what you think in the comments!
